Na
tural wood, with its soft grains and bold whipped cream sandy color, and a finish that is as natural as the wood itself; coupled with shape, balance, and repetition is what Jill’s modular sculpture is all about.

Borrowing from geometric shapes, along with free-forms, she has managed to create a balance that is so symmetrical, that the eye glides from one side to the other undisturbed.

Repetition of basic positive and negative shapes simplify the technical complexity of Jill’s innovative sculpture.

Jill’s goal was to create monumental stainless steel sculptures, so that the size will make a more forceful and dramatic impression on the viewer and yet retain the same simplicity that is exemplified in her smaller work.

Painted or Colored fabric, with its boldly quilted rhythmic lines, emphasizing direction and movement along with soft sculptural trapunto shapes that create warmth and visual volume, is what Jill’s  fabric hangings are all about.

The use of fabric, thread and beads as a medium in Jill’s work has given her a new dimension for self-expression, enabling her to create a variety of surfaces not possible with paint alone.

Varying themes and images, geometric shapes and free-forms, Jill has managed to create a rhythmic balance that is so symmetrical that the eye glides from one side of the composition to the other undisturbed, pausing only for indepth concentration on the design elements and sculptural definition as defined by quilting or trapunto.

Repetition of pattern, color and shapes simplify the technical complexity of the works which are assembled purely for an aesthetic purpose.

Jill’s goal is to create monumental proportion wall hangings, so that the size will make a more forceful and dramatic impression on the viewer, and yet retain the same simplicity that is exemplified in her smaller work.
